UAD dan UMTAS Kolaborasikan Riset Qibla Tracker untuk Penguatan Literasi Sains Siswa
Universitas Ahmad Dahlan (UAD) and Universitas Muhammadiyah Tasikmalaya (UMTAS) strengthened their academic collaboration through a joint research project under the 2026 Cooperation Agreement between the two institutions. The research was conducted by Dr. Abdul Hopid, S.Pd.I., M.Ag., from Universitas Ahmad Dahlan and Pandu Pribadi, M.Pd., from Universitas Muhammadiyah Tasikmalaya. The study focused on the effectiveness of using a Qibla Tracker for stream-based Qibla direction calibration to improve students’ scientific literacy. This collaborative research represents an interdisciplinary effort integrating Islamic education, astronomical knowledge, and science literacy. The research activities involved collaborative planning, implementation, data analysis, and evaluation to examine the effectiveness of the Qibla Tracker as an educational and technological instrument. Through this partnership, both institutions sought to develop innovative learning practices that connect religious knowledge with scientific approaches and technological applications.
The research collaboration resulted in a national journal article published in 2026 entitled “Efektivitas Penggunaan Qiblat Tracker dalam Kalibrasi Arah Kiblat Berbasis STREM untuk Meningkatkan Literasi Sains.” The publication represents a tangible academic output of the cooperation between UAD and UMTAS and contributes to the development of educational research, particularly in integrating Islamic studies with science, technology, and digital learning approaches. The collaboration also produced research documentation and reports as evidence of institutional cooperation. Overall, the research provides an academic contribution to the development of innovative methods for Qibla direction calibration while supporting the enhancement of scientific literacy through contextual and technology-based learning.
